Easy Rice kheer Recipe

Ingredients for Rice kheer
  • Basmati rice 3 tbsps
  • Whole cream milk 5 cups
  • Sugar 6 tbsps
  • Cashewnuts 10-12
  • Raisins 12-14
  • Green cardamoms 5-6
  • Saffron 6-8 strands

Method to prepare Rice kheer
Pick, wash and soak rice for two hours in one cup of water. Drain and keep aside. Chop cashewnuts. Wash and pat dry raisins. Peel and powder cardamoms. Soak saffron strands in one tablespoon of warm milk.
Heat milk in a pan and bring to a boil, add rice and reduce heat.
Cook, stirring continuously, till it reduces to one-third of the original quantity.
Add sugar and mix well by partially crushing rice.
Add cardamom powder, saffron milk, cashewnuts and raisins. Serve hot or cold.
