Soak dry apricots in sufficient water for half an hour, drain. Boil in four to five cups of water for thirty minutes. When soft, drain and refresh with cold water. Mash into a pulp, discarding the stones. Mix saffron with a tablespoon of warm milk. Wash and soak raisins in a cup of water for ten minutes and drain. Boil milk in a pan till it is reduced to almost half its quantity. Add sugar, crumbled khoya, raisins and boil for another five minutes. Add saffron milk and mix. Remove from heat and let it cool. Mix together apricot pulp and reduced milk. Portion out into individual bowls and serve chilled garnished with silver varq. |
