Green peas (shelled) 1 ¼ cups

Curry leaves 5-6 Coconut (scraped) 1 cup

| Method to prepare Matar naralachi ussal |

Wash and drain green peas. Remove stems, wash and finely chop green chillies. Peel, wash and finely chop ginger. Clean, wash and finely chop coriander leaves. Wash and pat dry curry leaves. Grind half of the scraped coconut with half a cup of water. Extract coconut milk. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle. Add curry leaves. Add green chillies and ginger. Cook for a few seconds. Add green peas and remaining scraped coconut. Mix it well. Cook on low heat. Add green chillies and ginger. Cook for a few seconds.
