Easy Chilli paneer Recipe

Ingredients for Chilli paneer
  • Cottage cheese (paneer) 200 gms
  • Cornstarch 4 tbsps
  • Oil 2 tbsps + to deep fry
  • Onions 2
  • Garlic 3-4 cloves
  • Green chillies 3-4
  • Capsicum 1 large sized
  • Vegetable stock ½ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • White pepper powder ½ tsp
  • Soy sauce 2 tbsps
  • Chilli sauce 1 tbsp
  • Ajinomoto ¼ tsp

Method to prepare Chilli paneer

Cut paneer into diamond shaped medium sized pieces. Heat sufficient oil in a wok, roll paneer pieces in cornstarch and deep fry on medium heat until the edges start to turn brown. Drain onto an absorbent paper and keep aside.
Blend remaining cornstarch (nearly one tablespoon) in a quarter cup of water and keep aside.
Peel, wash onions and cut into thick slices. Peel, wash and crush garlic. Remove stems, wash and slice green chillies. Wash, halve, deseed and cut capsicum into thick strips.
Heat two tablespoons of oil in a wok, add garlic and stir-fry for a minute. Add green chillies, onions and capsicum. Saute for two to three minutes.
Add fried paneer and stir in vegetable stock. Add salt, white pepper powder, soy sauce, chilli sauce, Ajinomoto and stir well.
Stir in blended cornstarch and cook on high heat, stirring and tossing till sauce thickens to coat the paneer and the vegetables. Serve immediately.
