Easy Moolyachi bhajee Recipe

Ingredients for Moolyachi bhajee
  • White radish (with leaves) 4-5 medium sized
  • Green chillies 4
  • Fresh coriander leaves a few sprigs
  • Gram flour (besan) ¼ cup
  • Oil 2 tbsps
  • Mustard seeds ½ tsp
  • Asafoetida ¼ tsp
  • Black gram split (dhuli urad dal) 1 ½ tsps
  • Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar ½ tsp

Method to prepare Moolyachi bhajee

Peel, wash and grate white radish. Clean, wash and finely chop radish leaves.
Remove stems, wash and finely chop green chillies. Clean, wash and finely chop coriander leaves.
Dry roast besan in a pan on low heat, stirring continuously for three to four minutes. Ensure there is no raw flavour.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let them crackle. Add asafoetida, urad dal and stir-fry briefly.
Add green chillies, turmeric powder and white radish with leaves, salt and sugar. Mix well and cook covered for six to seven minutes on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
When radish is cooked and mixture dries up, sprinkle besan an stir well. Add half a cup of water and continue to cook on medium heat for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
