Fresh button mushrooms 16 medium sized

Cottage cheese (crumbled) ¼ cup

Processed cheese (grated) ¼ cup

Onion 1 medium sized

Garlic 4-5 Cloves

Butter 5 tbsps

Salt to taste

White pepper powder ¼ tsp

Nutmeg powder ¼ tsp

Lemon juice 1 tbsp

| Method to prepare Stuffed mushrooms |
Remove stalks of mushrooms, clean and wash well and chop finely. Keep aside. Clean the heads of mushrooms, wash and wipe dry and prepare it for stuffing. Peel, wash and chop onion an garlic. Heat three tablespoons of butter in a non-stick pan and add onion and garlic. Saute for a minute and add mushroom stalks and salt to taste. Continue to cook for a minute. Add cottage cheese and white pepper powder and mix it well. Add processed cheese and nutmeg powder. Stuff this mixture into mushroom heads and sandwich two of such together, holding them with a toothpick. Smear the remaining butter and lemon juice on mushrooms. Preheat oven to 175o C. Place mushrooms in a baking tray and bake at 175o C for seven to eight minutes. Serve hot. |
