Easy Methi bhajia Recipe

Ingredients for Methi bhajia
  • Fresh fenugreek leaves (methi) 2 medium bunches
  • Onion 1 medium sized
  • Oil 1 tbsp + to deep fry
  • Gram flour (besan) ½ cup
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric ½ tsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Carom seeds (ajwain) ¼ tsp
  • Soda bicarbonate a pinch

Method to prepare Methi bhajia

Clean, wash and chop methi leaves. Peel, wash and finely chop onion.
Heat one tablespoon of oil in a kadai. Add methi and onion and saute for two minutes. Add besan and other ingredients.
Add a little water to make a batter of dropping consistency.
Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and add a teaspoonful of the batter and deep fry in hot oil till crisp and golden.
Drain onto an absorbent paper and serve hot with chutney of your choice.
